The start of the year is a time for a fresh start. I typically use this first week to clean out the pantry, remove expired products, and plan healthy meals to finish up the half-empty grains from the pantry. We spend most of our time indoors, and as the garden sleeps, we focus on inside home repairs and remodels.

Last week we revisited our master bath demo. The master bath has been in limbo. We started the demo on the shower and wall tile then expenses got in the way. We spent months saving on hiring someone to finish the remodel and ended up using the savings for an unexpected medical issue. So here we are 2.5 years later and tired of not having a beautiful place to start and end the day. We’ve rolled up our sleeves, put on gloves, and finished tearing out the tile.

Week 1 recap:

  • Cleaned out cabinets, spices, and pantry.
  • Tore out tub & shower tile.
  • Enjoyed a lazy Sunday after the holiday hoopla.

Plans for week 2:

  • Organize photos - 2012.
  • Draw a calendar in my bullet journal.
  • Revisit the Floret Online course with the new students and complete homework.
  • Plan for dianthus and lisianthus sowing.
  • Review and continue designing magazine flowers.

I look forward to this time of year. The counters and tabletops are clean and bare; everything feels calm and quiet. It’s a great time to dream and plan for the coming year.

Happy New Year,

Lelo
