Tulips

I thought tulips had the same cup shape for many years until I started growing and cutting them. In the beginning, yes, they bloom into a cup shape. The blooms can open larger than your hand as they age, revealing a hidden color. The petals' edges come in various textures, jagged ruffled edges of the parrot types and others with tightly fringed borders along the top or smooth narrow rims like the Emperor varieties.
