Last week was a lot of brainstorming, asking myself questions, and then answering them. It is hard work and even excruciating at times. Honestly, it’s taken me three years of this type of brainstorming to get as far as I did in answering my questions. For many years, several questions were left unanswered. So why now? How have I gotten so far this time? Persistence, I keep coming back to it, to the same questions. Each year, I gain a little more insight and confidence in myself. Last spring, I took action on an idea, and although I’ve paused and missed deadlines, I keep coming back. My answers finally started clicking.

The hardest questions for me to answer have been:

  • What is your business?
  • What is the purpose of your business?
  • What is your mission statement?
  • What is the cost, and how can you profit?
  • How will you promote your idea?
    • - It has to be manageable for yourself; it helps to know your strengths and weaknesses. Work off of your strengths.
  • What needs to happen before the launch?
  • When will you launch? What is a realistic timeframe?

Vision boards are a creative way for your instinct to take over and create a visually motivating board. It’s a place you can revisit when you get stuck or lost. The board does not speak in words but rather feelings. The feeling it evokes may not be clear right away. What color stands out, and what does it symbolize? Do the words inspire or act as a reminder?

Week 2 recap:

  • Created a vision board.
  • Brainstormed business concepts.
  • The master bath demo continues. Removed toilet and shower floor.

Plans for week 3:

  • Organize photos - 2009.
  • Review and continue designing magazine flowers.
  • More demo on the master bath (floor, countertops, scrape the ceiling.)
  • Garden planning.
  • Order seeds.
  • Prepare seed starting shelf.

I see a lot of red in my vision board; I typically stray away from red, so why is it so prominent? Red symbolizes emotions of action, energy, passion, and power. Red draws attention, stimulates, and provokes. This, combined with the largest word, "Do," I believe I'm ready for action.

Happy Goal Setting,

Lelo
