February 2024 Garden

February rolled in with a bang. Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early spring, and a 5.1 earthquake rolled us into February. Our temperatures were unseasonably warm, reaching up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Earthquakes in Oklahoma

The earliest dated earthquake in Oklahoma was in 1846. I never felt an earthquake until my mid-30s. In the last ten years, earthquakes have become more common. While they are rare, they still periodically occur. 

First Blooms of the Season

The month started bare from the cold temperatures of January. By the end of the month, we warmed up to Spring-like temperatures, and I received my first blooms.
